See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A pub since 1806, although the building dates from the 16th century. Was a Courage house until 2007 when purchased by the Miller's Collection and extensively refurbished. Since early 2023 it has passed into the hands of Butcombe Brewery and the snug bar is a showcase for their cask beers although the rotating seasonal is not always available. Look out for the low ceiling in the restaurant area; there is a covered well in the middle of the floor.

A handy pit stop on the immediately adjacent St. Swithun's Way footpath between Farnham and Winchester offering breakfast from 8 am and with the bar open from 10 am.
